Sarpy County Calls for Water Rescue near Chalco Hills Recreation Area

Sarpy County deputies were called to a water rescue Friday near the Chalco Hills Recreation Area. Officials arrived just after 5 p.m. at an area near 144th Street and Cornhusker Road. Deputies said a woman was seen in the water at Wehrspann Lake and officials launched a boat to assist in the rescue. Deputies said the woman was paddle boarding and her life vest was buckled to the board. Officials said she fell off the board and it floated away from her. Witnesses called 911 and a nearby boater saw her in distress and assisted.
