PFA Citizen Lifesaving Award Presentation

Fire Chief Tom DeMint and Battalion Chief Gene Maccarini recently honored Dr. Ciaran Murphy for his efforts in a water rescue on Lake Warren at the end of May. They presented him with the PFA Citizen Lifesaving Award at his office, there were two awarded in relation to the incident. The award is given in “recognition for an action taken by a citizen of the community in a direct effort to save the life or lives of others.” Dr. Evans is a local dentist and used his personal watercraft to help rescue three young females from the lake during a severe thunderstorm. “It was one of the worst I’d ever seen,” said Battalion Chief Gene Maccarini who was Incident Commander that day.
