Little Miami River Rescue a Reminder to Always Wear a Life Jacket

Miami Township Fire and EMS were called out for a river rescue after a family’s canoe got stuck on a piece of concrete in the Little Miami River. “The canoe that the people were in actually hit that concrete slab. It caused the canoe to capsize, but because they were at that slab, they were able to stay on the slab,” Mack said. The department shared the pictures to remind everyone to always wear a life jacket, which this family was. Mack says just because they were able to stay on the slab doesn’t mean they were out of danger; they were still in the rushing river.
