After Presumed Drowned, Grandson Found Safe on Island in Lake Moultrie

Saved by the Jacket

On Saturday night, storms with strong winds rolled through Moncks Corner, and a grandfather and grandson from out of town lost control of their fishing boat on Lake Moultrie at 10 p.m. Both the grandfather and grandson were both out on the water or the island for over 12 hours. Officials say they are in stable condition, but very weak and headed for a hospital for treatment. Life jackets may have been the reason they are still alive.
