Join us on May 21, 2021 for Wear Your Life Jacket at Work Day! This fun holiday promotes life jacket awareness and use. There are many different comfortable options that work for your boating activity of choice – hunting, fishing, paddling, or boating!
Boaters can participate by sharing a picture of them wearing a life jacket at work (or working from home) on social media with the hashtag #lifejacketatwork and tagging @boatingcampaign on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Share this event with your friends and boaters to join in on the fun! Participants will be chosen randomly throughout the day to receive free boating swag from the Safe Boating Campaign.
Why Wear Your Life Jacket at Work Day? In 2019, the U.S. Coast Guard reported that 86% of drowning victims were not wearing a life jacket. We want to help reverse this statistic. Life jackets should be worn at all times on the water and Wear Your Life Jacket at Work Day is a great way to show the world it’s normal, expected (and comfortable!) to wear a life jacket.
Wear Your Life Jacket at Work Day helps kickoff National Safe Boating Week, taking place May 22-28, 2021. Help usher in the summer boating season by refreshing yourself and your loved ones on the importance of always wearing a life jacket, and adopting other safe boating behaviors.
