Capsized Boat near Freeport Jetties

Just minutes later, at 1:44 p.m., there was a 911 call regarding a capsized boat near the Freeport jetties. The stranded man was able to make in safely to shore in a life jacket before first responders could get to him.

“These are two examples of how proper safety gear will save your life; life rafts and life jackets,” said the U.S. Coast Guard’s Zachery Edwards.
