Kayaker Rescued in Smith County after Boat Overturns

At around 3:15 p.m. the rescue squad dispatched to the Happy Hollow Access Ramp where they found a kayaker who overturned. The kayaker had made it safely to an island where the were found by the rescue crew. Crews were able to safely recuse the person and were then able to retrieve the kayak. The rescue squad says that the kayaker was wearing a life jacket and that the outcome could have been much worse if they hadn’t been wearing one.
